Cocobet names undefeated UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit as ambassador ahead of his title shot
Crypto casino Cocobet has signed American UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit as a brand ambassador, with the partnership surfacing through a joint training video the two posted to Instagram. In the clip, Hokit wears clothing carrying Cocobet branding. Neither side has disclosed the contract’s value or length.
Timed to a title shot
Cocobet is framing the deal as a way to expand its presence in sports content and reach MMA audiences specifically, a rationale that lines up with how other betting operators have approached fighter sponsorships in the past. The timing lines up closely with Hokit’s rise in the sport. He debuted in the UFC in November 2025, has won all four of his fights there since, and climbed to fourth in the heavyweight rankings along the way. On November 14, he’s set to challenge Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title at UFC 334 in New York, giving Cocobet a high-visibility moment to introduce the partnership just over a week ahead of the fight.
A familiar betting-industry playbook
Cocobet itself launched in 2026, operated by NewEra Information Technology N.V., a company registered in Curacao. Betting operators attaching themselves to UFC fighters right before major title fights has become a familiar pattern across the industry, mirroring moves like Conor McGregor’s own ambassador deals with sportsbooks timed around his UFC returns, and Cocobet’s bet on Hokit fits that same playbook: back a fighter at the exact moment his profile is about to spike, and ride the attention that follows regardless of how the fight itself turns out.
“Signing an undefeated title challenger eight days before his biggest fight is the cheapest kind of marketing bet a sportsbook can make.”
