Anthropic gives Max and Team subscribers monthly API credits
Anthropic is now giving Max and Team plan subscribers a recurring monthly allowance of API credits, ranging from $20 to $200 depending on plan tier, claimed by linking a Claude Console organization through billing settings.
The amount depends on the plan, not a flat number
Anthropic is giving Max and Team subscribers a recurring monthly allowance of API credits, according to the company’s own support documentation. The amount isn’t flat across the board: Max 5x subscribers get $100 a month, Max 20x gets $200, and Team plans work on a per-seat basis, $20 for a standard seat and $100 for a premium one, capped at $500 total per team regardless of headcount. Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans don’t qualify at all, so the benefit is specifically aimed at the tier of users already paying enough to justify Anthropic subsidizing their separate API usage.
Claiming it takes a few steps rather than happening automatically. Subscribers go to claude.ai, open Settings, then Billing, and look for the API credits section, where a “Link organization” option lets them attach either an existing Claude Console organization or a brand-new one to their plan. That link is permanent in a meaningful way: Anthropic’s documentation says only one Console organization can ever be linked per subscriber, so anyone juggling multiple organizations needs to pick carefully the first time rather than treating it as something easily swapped later.
Use it or lose it
The credits themselves don’t stick around if unused. New credits land shortly after a plan payment clears, and for annual subscribers they arrive monthly rather than all at once upfront, but whatever isn’t spent by the end of a billing cycle expires instead of rolling into the next one. That structure rewards people who are actually running API workloads tied to their subscription rather than banking credits for later, and it puts a soft deadline on token budgets that didn’t exist before this benefit launched.
“Free money that expires at the end of the month isn’t really free, it’s a nudge to go build something before the clock resets.”
